We are Sunsetting Opus Studio on June 12th, 2023
Dear Opus Studio users,
As the CEO of Opus, I am writing to share some important news regarding our Opus Studio product. After much consideration and evaluation of our strategic direction, we have decided to sunset Opus Studio on June 12th. In this message, I want to provide you with all the necessary information to help make this transition as smooth as possible for you.
While we understand that this decision may come as a surprise, please know that it was not made lightly. As a company, we have a responsibility to continually evaluate our product offerings and make strategic decisions that will enable us to deliver the best possible experience for our users. To keep up with the extraordinary success of our most recent product, Opus Clip, we have needed to adapt our responsibilities and priorities significantly in a very short amount of time. With Opus Clip's rapid growth, we have also experienced added demands on our operations, product, engineering, and marketing teams, as well as more financial responsibilities. For those reasons, we have concluded that sunsetting Opus Studio is the best decision for both our company and our users like you.
Starting today, we will be preventing new signups for Opus Studio. If you are already livestreaming successfully with Opus Studio, you can continue to do so until June 12th. However, our customer support will be extremely limited during this time, and on the 12th the Studio product will officially become unavailable for anyone to use.
We understand that this transition period may be challenging for some users, and we appreciate your understanding. We will do our best to provide you with the resources you need to make this change as seamless as possible.
As part of our commitment to helping you during this transition, we would like to share a few other livestreaming products that you may find useful. For our users looking for a new studio to switch to, we would first recommend Streamyard. Their product offers a wide range of production features and has proven to be reliable for creators like you. Furthermore, they provide plenty of tutorials and documentation, making it easy to get up and running right away.
Otherwise, if you have tried Streamyard in the past and are looking for other alternatives, we can also recommend checking out Restream and Melon.
If you have any data export requests as you transition away from Opus Studio (for example, downloading a recording of a past livestream), or need help in another way, we would be happy to assist. Please reach out to our team by emailing contact@opus.pro. We unfortunately cannot prompt support through other methods or channels during this time, including live chat.
We are proud of the revolutionary livestreaming UX that we built in Opus Studio, and of the many unforgettable live experiences it facilitated between creators and their audiences. Soon, we will be transforming this experience into a video recording studio designed to complement our newest product, Opus Clip. Opus Clip is an AI-powered short video editor that lets you generate 10 viral clips from a single long-form video. We would encourage you to try it out (if you haven't already)!
In closing, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our Opus Studio users. Your support and dedication have been invaluable to us, and we look forward to continuing to serve you through our other products. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Sincerely,
Young Zhao
CEO, Opus
