Cropping costs you pixels
A 1920 x 1080 file cropped to 9:16 leaves a 608 pixel wide column. We upsample anything below 1080 to an output of 1080 x 1920, so the export still lands at 1080p.

How to size one video for every platform
Upload the highest resolution master you have
A 4K source leaves more pixels after cropping than a 1080p one. A 4K file at 3840 x 2160 cropped to 9:16 exports at 1215 x 2160 with no upsampling.
Set your primary frame
Pick the ratio most of your posting goes to in Clip Layout Settings, or preset it in a brand template so every new clip starts in the right frame.
Branch the other sizes
Duplicate the clip and change its ratio, or use AI Expand when cropping would cut something important out of the frame.
Schedule each version
Send each size to the platform it was made for. Post immediately or schedule it for later from the project page.
