Video to SRT

Video to SRT

OpusClip transcribes your video and gives you the subtitles as a .srt file, the format YouTube and other video platforms accept. Pro plan users download it from the result page or from My projects, under the More menu.

Two options sit behind that one menu: Download Transcript gives a .txt file, Download Subtitles gives the .srt.

Why pull SRT from OpusClip

📥

Two clicks, not a conversion job

Open the project, click More, click Download Subtitles. The .srt is generated from the transcript we already made for your captions.

🔁

Your own SRT is welcome too

If you already have a working subtitle file, upload it during submission and we use it to generate captions instead of the transcript we would normally create.

🎬

Editing tools get the file too

Export to Premiere Pro or DaVinci and you also receive a .srt with timestamps, so you can restyle captions in your own timeline.

Subtitle files platforms accept

Download Subtitles produces a standard .srt, compatible with YouTube and other video platforms. Download Transcript next to it produces a plain .txt when you need the words without timings.

Hand off to an editor cleanly

The Premiere Pro and DaVinci exports include an .xml of the generated clip plus a .srt with timestamps. Our animated caption styles arrive there as overlays and cannot be edited, so finish caption styling in OpusClip first.

Can I use my own subtitle file instead?

Yes. Click Upload SRT in the clip settings after you add your video, and we use your file to generate captions rather than the transcript we would normally create.
